Mikaeli has a wealth of experience in early childhood intervention and paediatrics. Mikaeli has worked for nearly 15 years in a variety of paediatric settings, including special care nursery, acute paediatrics, community care, schools and under the NDIS.
On top of her clinical experience, Mikaeli has extensive leadership and management experience, holding senior roles since 2009. Mikaeli held the Allied Health Team Leader role at an Early Intervention service for four years, prior to being appointed as Specialist Services Manager for almost two years.
In 2020, Mikaeli undertook a project role with us at Icaria Health, where she looked at ways of improving our paediatric services, identified paediatric service gaps within the community and has helped start the development of our future (? current) paediatric service model. In addition to these roles, Mikaeli has undertaken extensive Paediatric training including in General Movement Assessments which allows for the early detection of Cerebral Palsy. Mikaeli has obtained a Specialist Certificate in Rural Paediatrics from the University of Melbourne in 2011, and in 2020 also finished a Graduate Certificate in Medical and Health Leadership through the University of Wollongong.
